Moriarty's Study

The colour of old paper. The walls of the room are packed with bookshelves made out of the crates he used when move all his books into this home. The shelves have plants growing at random over them, and the fireplace and candlelight (the room has no electric lighting) make the room into an flickering cubist collage of paper, wood.

Moriarty's desk is piled high with drawings and typed sheets of paper, practically covering the old typewriter.

Moriarty's basic wooden chair had bent to his will and become almost lifelike, and was in futile rebellion against becoming comfortable.

The window opens out onto the rooftop behind his flat, a fire-escape bolted to the side of the railway bridge. The door leads into a hall, leads into a kitchen (equally well used), and a staircase leads down into the basement, and the cafe.
