Spiral Dream Descent

Something in the street outside seems to be looking for us. No, were fine. Why am I out of breath? Can you see okay - Hang on. The sound of a match (psfff), a spark, light, T.U.E.S.D.A.Y. standing holding a candle, trying to look dramatic. Electric lighting would be innapropriate here, don't you think, candles are - watch your head, these cealings weren't built for the likes of us.

Ducking under a stone archway, into a cold stone room, looking down a staircase leading into the black. We're in the basement of the great cathedral, a few floors beneath is a narrow corridoor which spirals downwards - the entrance was actually discovered by the Professor you know? It's still hard to find though. The stairs are worn in places, so careful.

Later, going deeper and deeper until we arrived at a spiral staircase. The staircase seemed to go down for many hours/minutes (it's hard to say, time doesn't seem to be working normally. Am I worried?) walkng untill we arrived at a cavern, in the darkness I couldn't figure out how large the cavern was, but there was a chasm in front of us, and at the bottom of the cavern there was a lake.
