The Catacombs beneath the Cathedral
The basements and catacombs beneath the cathedral are described at lenth in Professor Moriarty's study of the building, and feature very little which has been altered by John Adargas.
The catacombs are known to be about 150 yards deep, being only partly manmade (mostly where required by the huge cathedrals foundations), the majority seems to be naturally formed caverns.
New areas have been discovered as recently as 1917, including an large room 90 yards underground, which is thought by some archeologists to contain evidence of an underground temple dating back thousands of years.
These areas are only infrequently made open to the public, and are still being studied by teams of experts from the November University and abroad.
