What happened next?

John K. Berl is sitting in the hotel bar. Despite being bought very decent whiskey, or possibly because of it, he is beginning to get annoyed by a reporter. This has been happening a lot since the publication of his second book.

Berl: And a few months later, we get the first evidence that...

Reporter: So the report was acted upon? Despite it's somewhat bizarre nature?

Berl: Of... Of course it was acted upon: Wyndham wasn't just talking to a... a man in the pub you know, this is the millionaire whose uncle was resposible for the Street lighting in November City.

Reporter: I'm sorry, but I don't...

Berl: He'd been involved in projects of this kind since Wyndham was a depressed, painter drinking too much Absynth on the Luxlan. Funding was obtained, the Submarine definitely was built, a crew was found, a cover story written... actors were found... the cover story was even filmed damnit. I even spoke to a man who claimed to have been on the Submarine.
